Well... Father’s Day Eve, when I got an email from my publisher, Dave Doody at Blüroof Press
containing a review from the Mindquest Review of Books.
Dave tells me Mindquest, a publication of Lightword Publishing, is a review of notable books from small presses such as Blüroof, as well from self-published authors. The way they put it is:
“Lightword Publishing selected, from many recent submissions, a few noteworthy works for a recommendation and review. The submitter incurred no charge or obligation for the writing and publishing their book review. Exceptional books from the smaller publishers and self-published authors are mostly disregarded by large mainstream media sources.Your support of Mindquest recommended works by review or purchase is appreciated.”
Well this is good to know -- that small and independent publishers have some friends out there. And here is their review of Traveling in Space:
TRAVELING IN SPACE
by Steven Paul Leiva
Subject: The superbly entertaining and unique novel presents first contact from an alien (Leif, the Life Seeder) viewpoint. The lifeship, searching for a place to populate, stumbles upon earth. They are curious about us. Leif will not seed earth because it’s populated. Leiva is an author, Hollywood film and stage writer and producer. The Book’s cover includes an accolade from Ray Bradbury.
Noteworthy: Ship member, The Large Handed Woman, studies our religious beliefs in the chapter, “The Amusement of Arrogance.” The part on the dichotomy of religious factions claiming a handle on the truth is thought provoking. The aliens study our weapons, marriage, drugs and more. From parody to abomination the book is literary word and concept art.
